Tigre – Defensa y Justicia

Tigre are one of the worst teams in the league so far. On Friday, they showed another worrying performance and succumbed to a deserved 2-0 away loss at Estudiantes. Therefore, El Matador managed a single point in the first Copa Liga Profesional rounds, sharing the bottom spot of the aggregate table with Banfield, Belgrano and Deportivo Riestra, and coach Nestor Gorosito’s job is now in danger. Overall, the team are winless in the last six league matches, drawing two and losing four.

Defensa y Justicia continue to improve game after game. Last Saturday, the team focused on defending and earned a massive point on their visit to Boca Juniors following a scoreless away draw. El Halcon made it three league matches unbeaten (winning two and drawing one) to accumulate seven points in the Copa Liga Profesional, a streak that is not yet enough for them to climb into the playoff zone in group B. Defensa won one, drew one and lost one on away turf in this competition so far. Goalkeeper Enrique Bologna is still out for Wednesday due to a knee problem.

Can’t see how is Tigre ever going to win a game again considering how bad they’ve been so far this season and the lack of a deep squad. Defensa should be able to avoid a defeat here, and probably win it with their fast counter attacking players.
