Tigre – Arsenal

Tigre are one of the best teams in the league at the moment. Last time out, they managed a big 2-1 away success at CA Central Cordoba following another interesting performance, with league topscorer Mateo Retegui netting a brace. El Matador (one of the newcomers for this season) made it 43 points in the Liga Profesional and 11 matches unbeaten, winning seven and drawing four. As a result, they have already confirmed their spot in one of the continental competitions in 2023.

Sarandi Arsenal seem to have taken a little breather after securing their top-flight status for next season. Last Monday, the team succumbed to a surprising 2-1 home defeat to newly-promoted side Barracas Central. That result represented their fourth loss across the last six league games (along with one victory and one draw). As a result, El Viaducto remain on 27 points after 26 matches in the Liga Profesional. Arsenal have been winless in their last nine away matches in this competition, having drawn four and lost five since beating Patronato 1-0 in early July.

Tigre are in great form and have a huge motivation here: if they win they will go to Copa Libertadores 2023, so I can’t see how they won’t take a comfortable win against a relaxed Arsenal.
