Talleres vs Racing
Last time out, Talleres settled for a scoreless draw away at Platense in an uneventful match. Pedro Caixinha’s men continue performing a terrible league campaign, having grabbed 14 points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand) and 25 in the whole season, sharing the bottom spot of the aggregate table with Lanus. However, the team succumbed to a single defeat across their last six league games, winning two and drawing three. At home, Talleres are on three domestic matches unbeaten (two wins and one draw).
After ten matches unbeaten in the Liga Profesional (four victories and six draws), Racing Club finally succumbed to a defeat last Monday, when they played a poor game and ended up losing to San Lorenzo 2-1 at home. Fernando Gago’s men couldn’t approach the top of the league table as they remain on 24 points in 15 matches, but the team continue sitting into the Copa Libertadores zone in the 2022 aggregate table. On away turf, Racing are on five league games unbeaten, having won two and drawn three since losing to Godoy Cruz in round two. Centre back Leonardo Sigali and winger Tomas Chancalay were sent off against San Lorenzo and are suspended, as is Emiliano Insua after reaching the yellow-card limit.
Some important missings for this very irregular Racing, so it looks like a good opportunity for Talleres to continue their good streak.
