Talleres vs Patronato
Talleres returned home empty-handed last Sunday after a devastating 1-0 away defeat to Estudiantes, with the team conceding the only strike of the game in the 93rd minute. That loss broke their three-match unbeaten streak of two victories and one draw in league action and kept them on 12 points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand). In fact, La T are occupying the penultimate spot in the 2022 aggregate table, only above Lanus.
Patronato won’t give up on their struggle to avoid relegation. Last Friday, the team celebrated a necessary 3-2 home success over San Lorenzo in a thrilling game to make it three league matches unbeaten (two victories and one draw). Facundo Sava’s men continue performing above expectations, having grabbed 21 points in 13 rounds in the Liga Profesional, and they are now seven points behind the first safe spot in the point-average table when their relegation seemed inevitable before this competition.
Patronato are on a quest to get the miracle they need to avoid relegation and they are doing it by playing nice attacking football which I expect to see here again.
