Talleres vs Instituto
Talleres showed a great display of effort last Sunday, drawing 1-1 away at Banfield after playing with ten men since the 20th minute. However, La T made it three Liga Profesional matches without a win, drawing two and losing one in that spell, which leaves them on 15 points and trailing leaders Huracan by three. On a positive note, Walter Ribonetto’s men hold onto one of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the aggregate table. Talleres are unbeaten in their last nine home matches, with six victories and three draws since losing to Gimnasia LP 1-0 in January.
Instituto left very good impressions last Sunday, but they wasted several goalscoring chances and ended up drawing 0-0 against Boca Juniors at home. However, Diego Dabove’s men continue to produce a remarkable campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 14 points after losing only one of the last five (along with three victories and one stalemate), which allows them to stay just four points behind the last Copa Sudamericana berth in the aggregate table. Instituto have been decent on the road this term, winning five and losing five so far.
Talleres lost some important players and they still have playmaker Ruben Botta injured, and I expect them to find some trouble against this Instituto that is going through a decent season and should be able to hold to at least a draw in this derby.
