Talleres vs Godoy Cruz
Talleres broke their four-match winless run of two draws and two defeats in league action in the best possible way. Last Sunday, the team beat defending champions Boca Juniors 2-1 away, with Diego Valoyes finding the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Therefore, Alexander Medina’s men are now on eight points in group B, two behind Union Santa Fe who occupy the last playoff spot. Four of those points were taken at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes as the side beat Patronato, drew to Newell’s Old Boys and lost to Velez Sarsfield.
Godoy Cruz couldn’t do anything to stop River Plate’s offensive power and suffered an uncontestable 6-1 home defeat last weekend. Sebastian Mendez’s men are on seven points in group A, having lost their last two league games (and three of their last five, along with one win and one draw), which dropped them down to 24th spot in the points average table. On away turf, El Tomba grabbed a single point from the last six available.
There are no doubts that Talleres is better than this poor Godoy Cruz that just conceded 6 at home so I expect a home win here.
