Talleres vs Barracas Central

Talleres showed an excellent recovery to return to winning ways last Sunday, when they easily beat Instituto (who were holding a 28-game unbeaten streak as the hosting side) 3-0 away from home. The victory allowed them to stop a three-game winless streak of one draw and two defeats as La T climbed into fifth spot of the Liga Profesional table on 16 points, trailing leaders River Plate by five. However, Javier Gandolfi’s men will have to improve their home form as the team lost their last two at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes (to Velez Sarsfield and Banfield).

Barracas Central found it hard to stop Boca Juniors’ offensive power and ended up losing 3-0 at home last Saturday. Therefore, Rodolfo De Paoli’s men made it four league games without a win (drawing two and losing two in that time). In fact, El Guapo remain on nine points in as many Liga Profesional matches this season, which places them only three points above the bottom spot of the league table, occupied by Colon. To make matters worse, Barracas grabbed a single point from the last nine on offer on the road (since they beat Sarmiento 5-3 in round two).

Talleres should use last week’s win in the derby vs Instituto as a starting point after an irregular start, and playing this very poor Barracas at home should be a game they definitely can win.
