Talleres vs Banfield
Talleres continues producing a terrible campaign in the league. Last Saturday, the team returned home empty-handed after a 1-0 away defeat at Boca Juniors, which extended their winless streak to seven Liga Profesional matches (two draws and five losses since beating Sarmiento in the opener). Pedro Caixinha’s men remain on five points after eight rounds in this competition and also continue occupying the bottom spot of the 2022 aggregate table. At home, Talleres lost their last three in domestic action without even scoring.
Banfield wasted a large amount of goalscoring chances last Sunday and had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against San Lorenzo. Claudio Vivas’ men are performing a worthy campaign so far, having lost only one of their last seven league games (along with three victories and three draws) to make it 12 points. However, they have been displaced from the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table last weekend. El Taladro have been unbeaten in their last four away matches, winning two and drawing two in that spell.
Talleres has been terrible in the league and Banfield has been solid playing away as it suits better their tactics, so I expect them not to lose here.
