Talleres vs Argentinos Jrs
Talleres fans will have felt frustrated last Monday, when the team had to settle for a 2-2 away draw to Instituto in an entertaining derby at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes after conceding the equaliser in the 85th minute. However, La T made it three matches unbeaten in the Copa Liga Profesional, winning two and drawing one, to accumulate seven points and climb into the playoff zone in group A. Talleres succumbed to a single defeat across their last 18 home matches, along with nine victories and eight draws.
Argentinos Juniors have clearly improved with regard to the 2023 Copa Liga Profesional. Last Saturday, the team showed enjoyable skills to beat Banfield 4-2 at home. As a result, they accumulated eight points in group A, climbing into the playoff zone and now trailing leaders River Plate by two. In fact, El Bicho made it six league matches unbeaten, winning two and drawing four in that spell. On a negative note, Argentinos are without a win in their last seven on the road, with four stalemates and three losses since beating Banfield 1-0 in September.
Argentinos looked good so far this season even if they are missing key players like Redondo (who will play in the MLS) and their top scorer Goundou who was playing in the pre-olympic tournament with Argentina, but this solid Talleres should be too much for them. They’ve been good playing at home and they for sure want revenge after failing to beat Instituto in the derby last weekend.
