Argentine Primera Division: Talleres – Velez Sarsfield Odds for November 19, 2021

Talleres – Velez Sarsfield

Talleres don’t give up on their fight for the title. Two weeks ago, they managed a valuable 2-0 away success at Godoy Cruz through goals from Rafael Perez and Juan Cruz Komar to make it 39 points in the league table (seven behind leaders River Plate). After three league games unbeaten (two wins and one draw), the team also opened a five-point gap over the first non-Copa Libertadores berth in the aggregate table, occupied by Lanus. Furthermore, Talleres have been almost perfect at home in this competition, registering seven victories, one draw and one loss.

Velez Sarsfield returned to winning ways two weeks ago, when they showed improvements to beat San Lorenzo 2-1 at home through a brace from Lucas Janson. Thanks to that success, El Fortin took a big step towards securing their ticket to the Copa Libertadores 2022 (they are sitting in second spot of the aggregate table). Having lost only one of the last 14 league matches (along with nine successes and four draws), Mauricio Pellegrino’s men are fourth-placed in the Liga Profesional on 34 points. On away turf, Velez lost only one of their last six, having won three and drawn two in that spell.

Velez is a very good team but I can’t understand why Talleres odds are so high so I’m going with the hosts here.
