Sarmiento vs Talleres
Sarmiento played an excellent game last weekend and were close to beating Boca Juniors away, but they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 draw after an entertaining match. Mario Sciacqua’s men took their first point in two games in the top flight (with one in hand).
Talleres secured a home point following a 2-2 home draw with Newell’s Old Boys last weekend thanks to a goal from Diego Valoyes, who wasn’t expected to play due to Covid-19 according to official reports. Alexander Medina’s men managed four points from nine on offer in group B, but they lost only one of their last nine league games, winning four and drawing four. Talleres were beaten in their last away game at Gimnasia LP, which broke their three-match unbeaten run of two victories and one draw on the road. Playmaker Joel Sonora misses out after succumbing to a muscle injury. Â
Poor performances so far by Talleres despite the 4 points they have, and Sarmiento at home should be a confident rival after almost beating Boca last week, so I think the hosts should be able to take something from this game.
