Sarmiento vs Huracan
Sarmiento are experiencing their best moment of form of the season. Last Monday, the team played a very good game to claim an easy 2-0 away success at bottom-placed Union Santa Fe thanks to a brace from Javier Toledo. Therefore, El Verde are now on three league games unbeaten (winning two and drawing one) as they also accumulated 22 points in the Liga Profesional table to open a four-point lead over the first relegation spot in the point-average rankings, currently occupied by Platense. At home, Sarmiento also grabbed seven points from the last nine available.
Huracan new coach Sebastian Battaglia experienced a rough debut in round 16, when his team had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Godoy Cruz in an entertaining game. The recently-appointed boss has a lot of work to do as El Globo claimed a single victory across their last 12 league matches, drawing four and losing seven. As a result, they accumulated 17 points in 16 weeks, occupying 24th spot of the Liga Profesional table. Huracan have been terrible on the road lately: they are winless in the last seven in domestic action, with two stalemates and five defeats in that time. Striker Matias Coccaro is suspended after seeing a red card against Godoy Cruz. Fernando Tobio succumbed to a muscle injury and will miss out too.
Huracan has been terrible even after last week’s new coach’s debut, they will have a couple of important missings and they should find trouble against this improved Sarmiento.
