Sarmiento vs Godoy Cruz
Sarmiento returned to losing ways last Saturday, when they were dominated from beginning to end and suffered a deserved 2-1 away defeat at Lanus. The team have been performing quite irregularly in the latest weeks, winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five league games. As a result, El Verde remain on 15 points, which is still a decent campaign, but the side continue sharing the first relegation spot in the point-average table with Platense (which would lead to a playoff at the end of the season). At home, Sarmiento won three of their last four matches, along with a single defeat in that spell.
Godoy Cruz continue to improve under interim boss Daniel Oldra. Last Saturday, they showed a very interesting version and secured an important 2-0 away success at CA Central Cordoba, with Tadeo Allende and Nicolas Fernandez finding the back of the net. El Tomba extended their unbeaten streak to four league matches (two victories and two draws) and made it 20 points in 13 league games this season, climbing into ninth spot of the Liga Profesional table. Furthermore, Godoy Cruz are now on two consecutive wins on the road, having beaten Sarandi Arsenal in round 11 too.
The last 8 Godoy Cruz games had at least 2 goals (5 of them had 3+) so I’m going for the over here as Sarmiento is also a good attacking team at home.
