Sarmiento vs Defensa y Justicia
Sarmiento are experiencing a more than decent start in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Thursday, the team showed a worthy version to secure a valuable 1-1 away draw against Boca Juniors (at San Lorenzo), making it two points in as many matches in this competition even playing twice on the road. On a sorry note, El Verde are on four games without a win in league action, having drawn three and lost one. In addition, Sarmiento haven’t claimed any victories in their last five at home (four stalemates and one loss).
Defensa y Justicia bounced back from their disappointing debut last Wednesday and celebrated an easy 3-0 home success over Platense. That victory allowed Julio Vaccari’s men to take their first three points in the Copa Liga Profesional and also to stop a seven-match winless run of two draws and five losses in this competition. On away turf, Defensa managed a single point from the last 12 available. Playmaker David Barbona remains doubtful due to a muscle problem, but Enrique Bologna is set to return as goalkeeper after succumbing to a knee injury shortly before the last game.
Defensa looked good in attack in the last game and they should continue like this against this Sarmiento who also has a solid offense with veterans Lisandro Lopez and Facundo Ferreyra and will play their first home game of the season, so I’ll go for the OVER on this short totals line.
