Sarmiento vs Arsenal
Sarmiento took a giant step towards securing their top-flight status last Saturday, when beating Newell’s Old Boys 1-0 away thanks to a goal from Yair Arismendi in the second half. The side put an end to their two-game losing streak and made it 25 points in the Liga Profesional, which also allows them to approach the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table (two points behind the last qualifying berth in which would be a first in the club’s history).
Sarandi Arsenal also claimed a massive success in their struggle to avoid relegation. Last Monday, the team thrashed Aldosivi 3-0 at home following a convincing performance. Thanks to that victory, El Viaducto broke a seven-match winless streak of four draws and three defeats in league action, accumulated 23 points in the Liga Profesional and opened a healthy nine-point gap over the first drop spot in the relegation table, occupied by their last opponents.
Although they are both on the lower part of the relegations table, they have a good distance above Patronato and Aldosivi with 7 rounds left, so I can imagine both being comfortable with a draw and Arsenal seems value here.
