Sarmiento – Velez

Sarmiento fans will have felt gutted after the team’s 1-1 away stalemate at Godoy Cruz as they conceded the equaliser in the 96th minute despite playing against ten men. As a result, Mario Sciacqua’s men are now on five league games without a win, having drawn four and lost one in the process. Accumulating 13 points in 12 matches, the side are now level with Patronato and Platense in the relegation table (above Huracan and Aldosivi).

El Fortin are now on 17 points in the league table. On a sorry note, Velez are yet to win on away turf in this tournament, having registered three draws and two defeats so far.

Velez has scored 10 goals in the last 4 games while Sarmiento has conceded in 4 of the last 5, so I have to expect an open game here.
