Sarmiento v Gimnasia

Having claimed a single victory across their last ten league games (five stalemates and four defeats), El Verde remain on 18 points in the Liga Profesional, which places them just one point above the bottom spot in the aggregate table, occupied by Tigre. On a positive note, Sarmiento lost only one of the last seven at home, winning three and drawing three.

Gimnasia LP fans will have felt frustrated following the team’s unexpected 1-0 home loss to Godoy Cruz in a hard-fought game in round 17. El Lobo are now without a win in their last four in league action, drawing three and losing one in that time. Accumulating 23 points in the Liga Profesional, Marcelo Mendez’s men are still out of the Copa Sudamericana zone in the aggregate table. On a positive note, Gimnasia are unbeaten in their last four as the visiting outfit, winning two and drawing two. Lucas Castro and Norberto Briasco overcame their injuries and are available while Juan Pintado and Nicolas Colazo will miss out. Martin Fernandez will serve the second game of his ban while Enzo Martinez returns from his own. Coach Marcelo Mendez will pick a mixed XI ahead of next Wednesday’s Copa Argentina clash against Boca Juniors.

Gimnasia with a mixed lineup but still with experienced attacking players like playmaker Lucas Castro and striker Troyanski, so despite how poor these two have been in offense lately, I’ll go with the OVER here on this very short totals line.
