San Lorenzo vs Tigre

San Lorenzo continue to produce one of their worst seasons in history. Last Monday, the team left worrying impressions and succumbed to an unexpected 1-0 away defeat to Argentinos Juniors. That result means El Ciclon are on four league games without a win (one stalemate and three losses) and remain on 29 points in the Liga Profesional, which places them into 22nd spot of the aggregate table. At home, San Lorenzo managed a single point from the last nine on offer. Defensive midfielder Eric Remedi returns from suspension on Friday.

Tigre showed another worrying performance last Monday, when they succumbed to a terrible 2-0 home defeat to newcomers Independiente Rivadavia. Having won only one of their last eight in league action (four stalemates and three losses), El Matador remain on 31 points in 26 Liga Profesional rounds, which would force them to win here and wait for two more results if relegation hadn’t been cancelled.

San Lorenzo’s season has been a disaster but Tigre’s has been worse. Neither of them has anything to play for in this last round, but San Lorenzo is a big club and playing in front of their fans should go for the 3 points so at least they can finish the year with a good result.
