San Lorenzo vs Instituto
San Lorenzo don’t want to give up on the fight for the league title. Last Saturday, the team secured a massive 2-1 away victory at Banfield thanks to a strike from Nahuel Barrios in the 94th minute, which extended their unbeaten streak to eight league matches (winning four and drawing four). El Ciclon continue producing an excellent campaign, accumulating 32 points to occupy second spot, just five behind leaders River Plate. San Lorenzo are without defeat in their last 11 home matches in domestic action, with nine victories and two stalemates in that time.
Instituto returned to winning ways right on time. Last Saturday, the team managed an important 1-0 home victory over Colon through a goal from Adrian Martinez in the 92th minute. The success prevented them from falling into the relegation zone, breaking a four-match winless streak of one draw and three defeats. As a result, La Gloria made it 20 points in 16 rounds of Liga Profesional action. On a sorry note, Instituto are on three losses in a row on away turf, having lost to Platense, Defensa y Justicia and Barracas Central without even scoring.
San Lorenzo’s run at home is just amazing, not only they are undefeated in the last 11 winning 9 of those but they didn’t even concede a goal in all those matches, so I expect them to continue and beat this irregular Instituto.
