San Lorenzo vs Arsenal
San Lorenzo managed a valuable point on their visit to Newell’s Old Boys last Thursday, when they drew 0-0 away despite showing a poor performance again. El Ciclon made it two points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional and four games without defeat in league action (one victory and three stalemates). On a sorry note, the team are winless at home in 2022, having drawn five and lost three so far.
Sarandi Arsenal registered a scoreless home draw against Banfield in an uneventful game last Saturday. It was the team’s first point in the Liga Profesional, but Leonardo Madelon’s men lost only one of their last five league matches (winning two and drawing two) and that run allows them to stay out of the relegation spots so far (three points above Godoy Cruz, who occupy 27th place in the respective table). On the road, Arsenal took seven points from 24 on offer this term as a product of a single victory, four draws and three defeats (their only win was at Aldosivi 2-1 in May).
It’s unbelievable that San Lorenzo still couldn’t win a game at home this year, and coming from two decent performances they should be ready to get the first one against this poor Arsenal.
