San Lorenzo remains as leaders in group 5 after thrashing Aldosivi 4-1 on away turf last weekend. Mariano Soso’s men took seven points from nine on offer in the Copa Liga Profesional. That also means El Ciclon won five and drew one of the last six competitive matches. At home, San Lorenzo lost one of their last seven matches, having won five and drawn one. Oscar and Angel Romero are ready to return after playing for Paraguay’s national team in the World Cup Qualifiers.
Damian Batallini’s strike in the second half gave Argentinos Juniors their first victory in the Copa Liga Profesional (1-0 away at Estudiantes). Thanks to that success, El Bicho climbed into second place in group 5 on four points (leading third-placed Aldosivi by goal difference). Diego Dabove’s men lost only one of their last five first-division games, having won three and drawn one of those.
After two convincing wins San Lorenzo seems to be in very good form, and having back the Romero brothers is more good news for them. Argentinos has shown nothing special so have to go with the hosts to keep their momentum.
