San Lorenzo – Lanus

San Lorenzo continue getting worse game after game. Last Sunday, the team suffered a 3-1 away defeat to River Plate in their third consecutive game without a win in league action (taking a single point in that span). El Ciclon continue producing a terrible campaign considering the fans expectations: the team earned 17 points in 16 matches and are far away from the continental spots in the 2021 aggregate table.

Lanus had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Banfield in a heated derby last Saturday. Therefore, the team managed only one success across their last five league matches, along with one stalemate and three defeats. As a result, El Granate made it 27 points in the Liga Profesional, occupying the fourth place. Luis Zubeldia’s men also failed to approach the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the 2021 aggregate rankings. Furthermore, Lanus lost their last two away games to Sarandi Arsenal and Boca Juniors.

San Lorenzo has been defensively terrible lately but they can score, similar to Lanus who is on a bad run, so I think we should see an open game here with some goals.
