Rosario Central vs Sarmiento
Rosario Central recently-appointed coach Carlos Tevez is still finding trouble to improve his team. Last Monday, they lost 2-1 away at Aldosivi to make it three consecutive defeats in the Liga Profesional. This negative run means they are now sharing the bottom spot of the league table with their last opponents and Defensa y Justicia (four points apiece). Central lost to Gimnasia LP in their last home match, which broke a five-game unbeaten streak of three victories and two draws at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito.
Sarmiento secured an important point last Sunday, when they settled for a 1-1 home draw against Racing Club in a controversial match. As a result, Israel Damonte’s men lost only one of their last five league matches (winning two and drawing two). Accumulating eight points in the Liga Profesional, the team remain occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table (would be a first-time in the club’s history) and also stay out of the relegation zone (sitting in 24th in that table).
Rosario Central are just getting worse every week. They scored only 2 goals in 6 matches and coach Carlos Tevez will make at least 5 changes trying to see some improvement, but Sarmiento is a tough team and they should be able to take something from this game.
