Rosario Central vs Racing
Rosario Central made a disappointing start to the Torneo Clausura, being outplayed from start to finish in a 2-1 defeat away to defending champions Belgrano after conceding the decisive goal in the 88th minute. El Canalla delivered a below-par performance and suffered their second consecutive league defeat, although they remain in the Copa Sudamericana qualification places in the overall standings. On a more positive note, Central are unbeaten in their last six home league matches (five wins and one draw).
Racing Club turned in an impressive performance in their Torneo Clausura opener, beating Gimnasia LP 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Matko Miljevic and Nazareno Colombo. The victory gave La Academia their first three points of the campaign and, having lost just one of their last six league matches (two wins and three draws), moved them closer to the Copa Sudamericana qualification places in the overall standings. On away turf, Racing have won one, drawn one and lost two of their last four league matches. Marco Di Césare is available again after serving his suspension, while Adrián Martínez must complete one more match on the sidelines.
Two entertaining teams will meet in this 2nd round, Racing coming from a good win at home and Rosario Central trying to recover from the defeat against Belgrano. One thing for sure is that they have two of the best attacks in the league so I’ll take this OVER.
