Rosario Central vs Godoy Cruz
Rosario Central had nothing to do against River Plate’s offensive power and suffered a heartbreaking 3-0 away defeat. As a result, Cristian Gonzalez’s men remain on three points after the first two rounds of league action. El Canalla lost three of their last four league games, having only beaten Argentinos Juniors two weeks ago. On a positive note, Central grabbed ten points from the last 12 on the line at their own stadium since losing to River Plate in November.
Godoy Cruz couldn’t hold onto their remarkable debut and suffered their first defeat this season, losing 2-0 at home to Estudiantes. The team, who earned three points from six on offer since coach Sebastian Mendez’s return for this season, occupy the penultimate spot in the points average table and have won only two of their last 14 top-flight matches, drawing two and losing ten.
Despite their win in the first round I still rate this Godoy Cruz as one of the worst teams in the league, and I think Rosario Central should be able to beat them here.
