Rosario Central vs Belgrano

Rosario Central continue to get worse game after game. Last Sunday, the team succumbed to an unacceptable 4-0 away defeat to River Plate. That result represented their second consecutive defeat and means El Canalla celebrated a single victory across their last ten league games (four stalemates and five losses). They remain on 29 points and without any chances of fighting for a continental ticket. At home, Central managed a single point from the last 12 on offer.

Bryan Reyna’s strike in the 88th minute allowed Belgrano to salvage a point last Monday, when the team ended up drawing 2-2 against Estudiantes at home in an entertaining game. El Pirata lost only one of their last six in league action, with two victories and three stalemates in that time to accumulate 35 points in the Liga Profesional, but they have been dropped from the fight for a continental ticket via the aggregate table. On a positive note, Belgrano are on seven away matches unbeaten, winning two and drawing five.

Another game with a lot of important missings for Rosario Central: their two central defenders Quintana and Mallo are out again, as well as playmaker Malcorra and their best striker Jamilton Campaz, so I’ll trust Belgrano who has been a strong away team, to avoid a defeat here.
