River vs Tigre
After their failure in the Copa Argentina, River Plate showed their poor version in their visit to Argentinos Juniors last weekend, succumbing to an unexpected 1-0 away loss. Following that result, El Millonario saw a two-match winning streak in league action coming to an end and were displaced from the top of the Liga Profesional table, accumulating six points (which is however enough to remain leaders in the aggregate table). River are unbeaten in the last ten domestic matches as the hosting side, winning six and drawing four. On Thursday 30, River won 2-0 at home Venezuela’s Deportivo Tachira in a Copa Libertadores group game.
Tigre are clearly the worst team in the league at the moment. Last time out, they were dominated by Racing Club from beginning to end and ended up losing 4-0 at home (with the visitors having two disallowed goals too). El Matador earned a single point in three Liga Profesional matches and remain winless in their last nine league matches (one draw and eight defeats), which keeps them occupying the relegation spot in the aggregate table, trailing Sarmiento by four. On away turf, Tigre haven’t claimed any victories in the last nine, drawing two and losing seven.
Tigre are by far the worst team in the league and a big relegation candidate. River at home are almost unstoppable and I can’t see anything but an easy win here.
