River vs Rosario Central
River Plate opened up the league season with a sorry performance and losing 2-1 at Estudiantes in spite of having taken the first lead and played against ten men during over 45 minutes. That means Marcelo Gallardo’s men are winless in their last three first-division games, having earned a single point in that spell. River lost their last home match to Independiente (2-0 at Banfield), which broke their four-game unbeaten run as hosts in the league (three victories and one draw). The team will return to the Estadio Monumental on Saturday after almost a year of hosting their home games at other venues.
Rosario Central took their first three points of the season last Monday, when beating Argentinos Juniors 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Luca Martinez Dupuy and Lucas Gamba. Therefore, Cristian Gonzalez’s men put an end to the two-match losing run they were on. El Canalla were irregular on away turf last term, earning seven points in five games as a product of two victories, one draw and two defeats. Rosario Central striker and club idol Marco Ruben is recovered and will be on the bench. Â
When River plays you have to expect goals but Rosario Central can score as well especially with Marco Ruben back in the team, so I’m going with the OVER here.
