Argentine Primera Division: River vs Argentinos Jrs Odds for March 08, 2021

River vs Argentinos Jrs

Thanks to an early goal from strike Matias Suarez, River Plate managed to claim a 1-0 away triumph at newly-promoted Platense in an even match. As a result of their second consecutive league success, Marcelo Gallardo’s men climbed into one of the playoff spots in group A, having taken six points so far. El Millonario suffered a single defeat in their last six home matches in domestic action, registering four victories and one draw: only one of those games took place at their own stadium (the 3-0 triumph over Rosario Central two weeks ago).

Argentinos Juniors’ fans should feel highly worried after this poor league start under Gabriel Milito’s tutelage. Following a 2-0 home defeat to Velez Sarsfield, El Bicho remain pointless in three rounds in group A and also made it four league games without a win (considering their 2-2 home draw with Boca Juniors last term). On away turf, Argentinos lost to Rosario Central three weeks ago to break a four-game unbeaten streak of three wins and one draw on the road (still with boss Diego Dabove in charge).

River just won 5-0 against Racing the Argentina Supercup pending from last year showing they are in top form, and I can’t imagine this poor Argentinos being able to hold them.
