River – Atletico Tucuman

River Plate took a little breather in the context of a difficult start in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Sunday, the team showed a decent performance to beat relegation candidates Sarandi Arsenal 3-1 at home and made it six points in group A after winning two and losing two of their four games. On a positive note, El Millonario extended their impressive winning streak at home: it’s been 13 consecutive victories in domestic action at Estadio Monumental.

Atletico Tucuman continue to improve under coaches Favio Orsi and Sergio Gomez. Last Saturday, the team secured their first victory in the Copa Liga Profesional by beating Barracas Central 1-0 at home, with Ramiro Carrera netting the winner in the second half. El Decano made it six points in group A and ten league games without defeat (winning six and drawing four in that spell). As a result, the side are just three points behind the last Copa Sudamericana spot in the aggregate table, occupied by Rosario Central. On away turf, Atletico are unbeaten in the last five, with two wins and three draws.

River has an impressive streak of wins at home and they should probably win this one too but if they had to work hard against Arsenal, the worst team in the league, it could be even worse against a tough team like Atletico Tucuman so I like the handicap on the visitors.
