Racing vs San Lorenzo
Racing Club managed an important victory on their fight for the title last Thursday, when beating Banfield 2-0 away thanks to goals from Matias Rojas and Tomas Chancalay. La Academia are now fourth-placed Liga Profesional on 24 points, trailing leaders Atletico Tucuman by five, following ten matches unbeaten in this competition (four successes and six draws since losing at Gimnasia LP in round four). Racing also hold an impressive 17-match unbeaten streak of 11 wins and six draws at their own stadium in league action.
San Lorenzo returned to winning ways on Tuesday, when they managed to beat Platense 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Gaston Hernandez and Ezequiel Cerutti. El Ciclon are showing an improved version lately, having lost only one of their last eight league matches (along with three victories and four stalemates). Ruben Insua’s men grabbed 20 points in 14 matches in the Liga Profesional, trailing the last Copa Sudamericana berth in the aggregate table by five.
San Lorenzo’s defense is not reliable at all but they’ve been scoring well lately, against this Racing I can imagine an open game with good chances for both.
