Racing vs Boca
Racing Club are showing a poor performance lately. Last weekend, they had to settle for a disappointing 0-0 away draw against newcomers Barracas Central at All Boys, which means they failed to approach the top of the league table: La Academia are on 20 points, five behind leaders Atletico Tucuman. Fernando Gago’s men are unbeaten in their last eight league games, but won three and drew five of those. However, they remain as the best team in the 2022 aggregate table. At home, Racing are on 16 league games without defeat (11 victories and five draws). Striker Enzo Copetti has served his one-game suspension and is available for Sunday.
Boca Juniors returned to winning ways last weekend, when they managed to beat Platense 2-1 at home with Oscar Romero netting a brace despite showing a poor performance. The defending champions continue performing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, having won six and lost six of their 12 games to accumulate 18 points, seven behind leaders Atletico Tucuman. El Xeneize lost all three away games under coach Hugo Ibarra (to San Lorenzo, Argentinos Juniors and Patronato).
Big derby and even though Racing is not at their best form, they should have more than enough to beat this awful and very irregular Boca.
