Racing vs Aldosivi
Racing Club recently-appointed coach Juan Antonio Pizzi had a terrible debut last weekend, when his men played below expectations and ended up losing 2-0 away at Banfield in the league opener. That result put an end to the team’s four-game unbeaten run in domestic action (two victories and two draws). On a positive note, La Academia are on three consecutive league successes at their own stadium.
Fernando Gago had a sorry debut as a professional coach. Last Saturday, Aldosivi played below expectations and lost 2-1 at home to Godoy Cruz (who were the worst team in the league last season) in a six-pointer thinking of relegation in 2022. The loss also means El Tiburon are on four matches without a win, taking a single point in that span.
I don’t expect much from Racing this season but not beating Aldosivi, one of the worst teams in the league, at home would be a new low for them and I don’t think they are that bad.Â
