Racing – Argentinos Jrs
Racing Club wasted a two-goal lead at Defensa y Justicia last Thursday and they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 away draw. That result means La Academia secured only two points in as many games in this competition. Coach Fernando Gago is having trouble finding his team’s best version: they won only two of the last seven in league action, drawing two and losing three. However, Racing also are on three home matches unbeaten, having won two and drawn one since losing to Colon 2-1 in November.
Argentinos Juniors played enjoyable football last Tuesday to claim an easy 3-0 home success over Newell’s Old Boys. In fact, El Bicho won four of their last five league matches, suffering a single defeat in that time. Argentinos also won at Patronato in their last away game to break a five-match winless streak of one draw and four defeats on the road.
Argentinos has been playing very solid football, but Racing has a strong attack lead by colombian Edwin Cardona, so I like the chance to have at least a couple of goals and I’ll take the over on this short line.
