Platense vs Talleres
Platense had a rough night last Tuesday and ended up losing 2-0 away at San Lorenzo in an intense match. Omar De Felippe’s men are performing well in this competition, with 21 points in 14 games, but they managed a single victory across their last five league games (drawing one and losing three), which places them in the 23rd place in the relegation table at the moment. On a positive note, El Calamar are on eight home matches unbeaten, having claimed three wins and five draws since losing to Gimnasia LP 3-0 in April.
Talleres had to settle for a 3-3 home draw against relegation candidates Patronato after leading on all three occasions in an entertaining match last Thursday. In the context of a poor season, the team are now experiencing an interesting run, having lost a single game across their last five in this competition (along with two victories and two draws). Having grabbed 13 points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand) and occupying the penultimate spot in the aggregate table, La T don’t have any important aims for the remainder of the league season. Talleres are winless on the road in 2022 in league action, drawing four and losing nine so far.
A good home team against a terrible team away, the choice is obvious and I’m going with Platense here.
