Platense vs San Lorenzo

Platense showed their best version in this tournament last weekend and it was enough to beat Banfield 4-2 away in an entertaining game. Thanks to that victory, the team climbed out of the bottom spot in the relegation table to occupy 21st place at the moment. El Calamar made it nine points in as many games in the Liga Profesional, with seven of those arriving in the last four games (two wins, one draw and one loss). At home, Platense registered one success, one stalemate and two defeats so far.

San Lorenzo put an end to their five-match winless streak of one draw and four consecutive defeats last Monday, when beating Patronato 3-0 at home with Nicolas Fernandez, Cristian Zapata and Franco Di Santo scoring. El Ciclon made it 11 points, which is a poor campaign for them, and the side continue out of the continental spots in the aggregate table. In fact, Paolo Montero’s men are on three defeats in a row on away turf, having lost to Union Santa Fe, Talleres and Estudiantes without even scoring.  

San Lorenzo finally showed a much better face last week on the 3-0 win vs Patronato, and considering they had a talented squad this could be the starting point of something good for them.
