Platense vs Instituto
Platense are showing an improved version lately. Last Sunday, the team secured a massive 2-0 away success at Banfield thanks to goals from Vicente Taborda and Ronaldo Martinez, which allowed them to make it four league games without defeat (two victories and two draws). As a result, El Calamar accumulated 13 points in the Liga Profesional and climbed out of the relegation zone in the point-average table, now leading direct contenders Sarmiento by two points. Platense beat Defensa y Justicia 1-0 in their last home match to break a eight-game winless streak at Estadio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez (five draws and three losses).
After their massive win at defending champions Boca Juniors, Instituto suffered a heavy blow last Sunday: they made several defensive mistakes and ended up losing 3-0 in a heated derby against Talleres at home. That defeat put an end to their four-match unbeaten streak of two victories and two draws. However, La Gloria continue producing a decent campaign after getting promoted to the top flight, accumulating 13 points in nine matches. Instituto have been performing well on the road, grabbing seven points from 12 available as a product of two wins, one draw and one loss.
Instituto’s unreal undefeated run at home finished last weekend when they lost the derby vs Talleres, a result that should affect them since it was a very important game, and they will visit a Platense that are finally getting good results, so I’ll go with the hosts not to lose here.
