Platense vs Huracan
Platense focused on defending last time out and they managed a clean sheet. The scoreless away draw at Union Santa Fe means El Calamar remain safe from potential relegation threats, accumulating 33 points following a decent campaign, which is enough to occupy 15th spot in the Liga Profesional table. In fact, Martin Palermo lost just two of their last six games in this competition, along with three victories and one stalemate. At home, Platense won four of their last five matches, just losing to Lanus 1-0 in that stretch.
Huracan seem unable to secure points at the moment. Last time out, the team showed slight improvements but ended up losing again. The 1-0 home defeat to Talleres means El Globo are yet to earn points in three games under the tutelage of new coach Diego Martinez and extended their winless streak to 11 league matches, drawing three and losing eight in that spell. That terrible streak places them in the penultimate spot of the Liga Profesional table on 19 points, currently getting relegated and six points behind the first safe berth. On away turf, Huracan are without a win in the last 12 domestic matches, with three draws and nine defeats.
Huracan just can’t wait for this tournament to be over so they can get some new players to try to avoid relegation. They are playing terrible, their confidence is an all time low, and they should find trouble against this solid Platense.
