Platense vs Banfield
Platense are now on three league matches without a win (drawing one and losing two) following their 2-1 away defeat at defending champions Boca Juniors last Saturday. This negative streak dropped them down to the 24th place of the relegation table. However, El Calamar’s campaign has been worthy so far as they accumulated 18 points in 12 rounds. At home, Platense have been unbeaten in their last seven matches, registering two victories and five stalemates since losing to Gimnasia LP 3-0 in April.
Banfield continue producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional. Last Friday, the team registered a disappointing 0-0 home draw against Patronato (Jesus Datolo missed a penalty). The team are now on six league games without a win (four stalemates and two defeats). El Taladro accumulated 15 points in this competition, which is not enough to approach the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table.
Both have been very irregular so far this season but Platense has been solid at home and I think they should win here.
