Platense vs Aldosivi
Luciano Recalde’s strike in the first half allowed Platense to take a much-needed 1-0 away success at Banfield last Monday. As a result, El Calamar made it 11 points in ten rounds to climb into 20th spot in the points average table. On a sorry note, they managed only two victories across the last nine matches, along with two draws and five defeats, and remain winless at Estadio Ciudad de Vicente Lopez, having registered a single stalemate and four losses so far.
Aldosivi extended their winless streak to four league matches (one draw and three straight defeats) last time out following a 1-0 home loss to Rosario Central in an uneventful match. Fernando Gago’s men remain producing a poor campaign, having earned only eight points in ten rounds so far, which places them in 24th spot in the points average table, levelled with Godoy Cruz and only above Patronato. El Tiburon took four of those points on away turf as a product of one victory, one draw and three losses this term. Â
As much as these two have been unreliable and irregular so far, I still rate Platense as a more solid team and sooner than later they should get their first home win.
