Platense v Rosario Central
Platense showed an interesting version last Sunday, when they managed an important 1-1 away stalemate at defending champions Estudiantes in an intense game. El Calamar continue to produce an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 16 points after winning only one of their last six matches in this competition, drawing two and losing three. However, they remain 13 points above the relegation spot in the aggregate table. At home, Platense secured a single point from the last 12 available.
Rosario Central fans will have felt heartbroken after the team’s 2-2 home stalemate against Talleres as they conceded the equaliser with just two minutes to go. El Canalla are going through an irregular spell, having won only one of their last four league games (along with one draw and two losses). Matias Lequi’s men made it 19 points in 14 rounds and should improve to stay away from relegation threats. Central lost their last two away matches in this competition (to Independiente and Boca Juniors). Carlos Quintana and Jorge Broun remain sidelined on Sunday.
Platense scored in their last three games but also conceded in the last two, Rosario Central scored at least once in seven of their last eight and still won’t have their starting goalkeeper Jorge Broun and their most experienced defender Carlos Quintana, so I definitely have to go for this low totals line.
