Platense – Lanus

Platense continue finding trouble to secure victories in the league. Last time out, they couldn’t stop Huracan’s excellent form and succumbed to a deserved 2-0 away defeat. As a result, El Calamar are now on seven league matches without a win (two draws and five losses in the process), which means they remain on 31 points. It’s an irregular campaign in general terms, but the side still managed their top-flight status a few weeks ago.

Lanus continue to get worse game after game. Last time out, the team showed a worthy version, but still ended up losing 1-0 at home to Racing Club after conceding with nine minutes to go. That result represented their fourth defeat in a row in league action: El Granate earned only 20 points in 26 rounds in the Liga Profesional and remain bottom-placed in the 2022 aggregate table. On a positive note, Lanus took seven points from the last 15 available on the road, winning two, drawing one and losing two.

Platense has been poor lately but Lanus has been even worse, they could have some missings here and I’m going with the hosts to close the season with a win.
