Patronato vs Union
Patronato put up a good fight on their visit to Defensa y Justicia, but they ended up losing 1-0 after conceding in the second half. Following three identical defeats in as many rounds, Ivan Delfino’s men are now bottom in group B without any points and continue compromising their top-flight status ahead of next season’s points-average table. El Patron won only one of their last 16 games (three draws and 12 losses), but it was at Union Santa Fe 2-1 in January.
Union Santa Fe put an end to a three-match winless run in league action (two draws and one loss) last Monday, when beating Lanus 3-2 at home thanks to a goal from young striker Daniel Juarez in the 94th minute. Therefore, Juan Manuel Azconzabal’s men made it five points in group B, only one below the last playoff spot.
It’s not easy to trust Patronato but they’ve shown signs of improvement lately despite their 3 consecutive 1-0 defeats, sooner than later they will win again and against Union, the team they beat the last two meetings looks like a good opportunity.
