Patronato vs River
Patronato seem to be condemned to relegation following their 1-0 away defeat at Colon last Wednesday, when the team created several goalscoring chances but were uneffective up front. Facundo Sava’s men produced a remarkable performance in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 31 points in 23 matches, but they lost three of the last five (winning one and drawing one). The previous campaigns keep them into the relegation zone in the respective table and eight points behind the first safe place with four rounds to go. On a positive note, Patronato have been unbeaten in their last eight home matches, with five victories and three stalemates.
River Plate celebrated their second consecutive success in league action (three across the last four in this competition along with a single defeat) on Wednesday, when they showed a tremendous superiority over Estudiantes to thrash them 5-0 at home. As a result, Marcelo Gallardo’s men made it 38 points in the Liga Profesional. The team don’t hold a big chance of fighting for the title as they are trailing leaders Atletico Tucuman by six with four rounds to go, but El Millonario took a big step towards securing their spot in the 2023 Copa Libertadores via the aggregate table.
Patronato in another must win game, but this time facing a River that comes from a big win, I definitely have to expect goals here.
