Patronato vs Newell’s
Patronato succumbed to their first defeat in the Liga Profesional last Wednesday, when they couldn’t stop Independiente’s offensive power and ended up losing 2-0 away. That result put an end to their three-game winning run in league action. In fact, Ivan Delfino’s men remain on six points in the 2021 Liga Profesional and their remarkable campaign allowed them to stay occupying 21st spot in the relegation table. Patronato also are on five consecutive victories at their own stadium.
With young playmaker Nicolas Castro netting a brace, Newell’s Old Boys managed a remarkable 4-2 home success over Estudiantes last Thursday. Therefore, the team made it six points in the first three rounds of the Liga Profesional (only one behind leaders), having won two and lost one since coach Fernando Gamboa’s arrival.
Newell’s comes from a very solid performance against a very difficult team like Estudiantes, Patronato is also on good shape despite last week’s defeat but the visitors should be able to take something from this game now that they will have some important players back.
