Patronato vs Gimnasia

Patronato managed a key victory in their struggle to avoid relegation. Last Saturday, they beat San Lorenzo 2-1 away thanks to goals from Axel Rodriguez and Gabriel Gudino, which allowed them to stop a three-match losing streak in the Copa Liga Profesional. Facundo Sava’s men made it ten points in 12 games, which is still not enough to leave the bottom spot of the relegation table, but the team are now nine points away from safety. On a sorry note, Patronato lost four of their six games at home this term, winning one and drawing one.

Gimnasia LP don’t give up the fight to get a ticket to the playoffs. Last Saturday, they managed to beat Union Santa Fe 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from Ramon Sosa. El Lobo won four of their last six league games (along with one draw and a single defeat) to make it 18 points in group A, three points behind fourth-placed Argentinos Juniors, which gives them a tiny chance to enter the top four in the two remaining rounds. Furthermore, Gimnasia won their last two away games at Atletico Tucuman and Platense.

Gimnasia must win to keep their very small chances of going to the playoffs alive, and even though Patronato comes from a good win I rate the visitors as the better team here.
