Newell’s vs Velez

Newell’s Old Boys continue at the top of the Fase Complementacion’s group B with nine points following their 3-1 home success over CA Central Cordoba in an intense game last Monday. Velez Sarsfield wasted a big chance of staying at the top of the Fase Complementacion’s group B table last Monday, when losing to Estudiantes 3-2 at home. That result broke their three-match unbeaten run of two victories and one draw. El Fortin are now second-placed on six points, trailing next opponents by three.
 

Velez lost last week against Estudiantes who had no wins in almost a year and midweek they will play the 1st leg of the Copa Sudamericana semifinals so they will rotate some starters, what means that Newell’s should win this game and secure the 1st place of the group.
