Newell’s vs Racing
Newell’s Old Boys seem unstoppable at the moment. Last Friday, the team secured a massive 3-1 away success at Union Santa Fe with striker Juan Ignacio Ramirez in superb form (he netted a hattrick). Mauricio Larriera’s men remain as group B leaders after taking all 12 points in the Copa Liga Profesional and making it five league wins in a row overall. At home, Newell’s won the last two without conceding (over Defensa y Justicia 3-0 and Belgrano 1-0). All regulars are available for Monday.
Racing Club are starting to find their best version under recently-appointed coach Gustavo Costas. Last Friday, the team showed promising skills and managed to beat San Lorenzo 4-1 at home. As a result, La Academia made it three league games unbeaten, winning two and drawing one in that time to accumulate seven points in four Copa Liga Profesional matches. Furthermore, Racing remain without defeat in their last eight domestic games on the road (two victories and six stalemates).
Have to take the OVER here as the red hot Newell’s that won 4 out of 4 so far this season, hosts this Racing that comes from scoring 4 against San Lorenzo, but are still weak in defense with captain Leonardo Sigali injured.
