Newell’s vs Huracan
After six winless games in league action (two draws and four defeats), Newell’s Old Boys returned to winning ways last Monday, when they beat Lanus (who were leaders before the game) 2-1 away thanks to a brace from young star Nicolas Castro. However, La Lepra continue hovering in the low half of the table, having managed 15 points in 12 rounds.
Huracan dropped down to the penultimate spot of the relegation table (only above Aldosivi) as a result of their 1-0 home defeat to Independiente. The team have been struggling lately: they won only one of the last 11 league matches, along with seven draws and three losses. El Globo earned only 13 points in the Liga Profesional and Frank Kudelka’s job is now at risk. Furthermore, Huracan haven’t claimed any victories in their last nine away matches, having drawn seven and lost two in that time.
Newell’s should have recovered their confidence after the big win at Lanus, and they should be able to continue improving against this very poor Huracan.
