Newell’s Old Boys had enough to claim an easy 3-0 success over Godoy Cruz away from home, which allowed them to make it six points in two rounds in the Fase Complementation. In fact, it was their third consecutive victory in this competition (and the fourth in the last six games, along with one draw and one defeat). At home, La Lepra managed seven points from the last nine on offer.
CA Central Cordoba earned a single point in two rounds in the Fase Complementacion following a 2-0 home defeat to Velez Sarsfield last time out. The team secured only one victory in their last 13 top-flight games (drawing five and losing seven) and are winless in the last three with one stalemate and two losses.
Despite missing a couple of veterans like striker Ignacio Scocco and midfielder Pablo Perez, Newell’s should have more than enough to beat this Central Cordoba that is one of the worst teams in this competition.
